What does "区域内行驶" mean?

"区域内行驶" refers to a situation where a vehicle can only travel within a designated area and cannot exceed the scope of the temporary permit. If the vehicle exceeds the designated area, the temporary number plate will lose its legal effectiveness, which is equivalent to driving without a valid license. There are two types of temporary number plates: provincial and inter-provincial. Local vehicles cannot leave the province, and inter-provincial vehicles also have designated areas, such as the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway. The owners of these vehicles can only drive within the specified areas. If the vehicle has a permanent number plate, the temporary number plate will become invalid and cannot be used. The effective period of the temporary number plate for in-province driving is no more than 15 days, and for cross-province driving, it is no more than 30 days.
